So what is a flower consultation and why do you need one?
Floral consultations are geared towards couples planning on getting married, but are also incredibly helpful for any big party or event you plan on hosting! I’ve consulted people planning bridal showers, holiday parties, corporate events, and everything in between. If you need a variety of flowers and you’re not sure where to start, the consultation is for you. Planning your own flowers can be overwhelming, right? So you’ve booked your consultation – now what?
A floral consultation at Fiftyflowers starts with a connection. Once you schedule, I will reach out to you with a questionnaire to get to know you and learn more about your event. Expect questions like:
- What are your event colors?
- What are some flowers you love?
- What are some adjectives describing the vibe of your event?
- Why have you chosen to DIY your flowers?
The questionnaire allows me to search our site and create a list of items I think fit well, not only together, but with your full vision. Next, we get to talk it all out! I will give you a call at your scheduled time. Make sure you have access to the internet and the FiftyFlowers website. This adds a visual element to the consultation call and helps connect product names with pictures. We have 45 minutes dedicated to discussing all the details about your flowers and event. The goal by the end of the conversation is to create a mock-up cart filled with your chosen items in their appropriate amounts. From there, I will then create a recipe worksheet for you to use as a guide when building your arrangements to make the DIY process as straight-forward as possible.

After your consultation, I will send you an email full of helpful information including recommended tools, flower transportation tips, and suggestions for what to do with extra flowers, along with your cart and recipe.
