Are your holiday plans for 2020 beginning to look a little cozier this year? If you’re like me and my significant other, we are skipping holiday gatherings and travel, and hosting our first ever Christmas, just the two of us. I am beginning to see that this will become more and more common with the COVID-19 pandemic still being largely unpredictable. But this doesn’t mean that my holidays are going to be anything less than fabulous!
Entertaining for two can be just as fun! Keep reading to learn more about how I am going to style my extravagant holiday dinner for two!
To begin, think about your “vibe”. My boyfriend and I moved into a new place and it is our first Christmas together by ourselves without our family. I’ve had the extremely fun yet slightly stressful task of deciding on what our holiday decor color palette and theme is this year. The Gemini in me wants a different style for every day, but ultimately I’ve decided on a minimalistic vibe with reds and whites. Using felts and papers to give it a warm and cozy feeling. You’re going to want to shape your holiday dinner decor around the theme of your house to keep the cohesive vibe, giving you a nice calming effect. Next, I decided to pick a centerpiece from the FiftyFlowers DIY kit collection of 4 different looks to match that vibe. I picked the Modern DIY Centerpiece Kit FiftyFlowers offers.
Fun side note: My family and I who can’t be together this year are joining the virtual class and designing our separate centerpieces over Zoom!
Next, think about the size of your table. My apartment has a generous amount of counter space, but not much room for a dining table. This means that the Modern DIY Centerpiece is the perfect size to create our Christmas tablescape. We can lay a small table runner on one side of the counter, the centerpiece on top, and then place our dishes opposite of it and enjoy the warm tapered candlelight.
Pro-Tip: If your household contains more than just two people, you can just multiply the bouquets or bunches to your needs! (You can chat with our amazing Customer Care Reps if you need help with this!)
To add some extra details to the design, I’m accenting my holiday table with tea lights, more tapered candles, flatware, and wine. Incorporating the flowers into my holiday tablescape is important. Flowers have been a large part of my holiday table each year because of their fresh scent and beautiful appearance. They boost my mood, helping me get in touch with the true spirit of the season. The FiftyFlowers Modern Centerpiece Kit was also a great way to form new types of holiday connections and traditions with my family and friends while keeping safe. I can already tell new traditions will be formed out of our adaptations from the year 2020. Happy Holidays!
