Our family at FiftyFlowers is growing like our beautiful buds! Today we are spotlighting a new member of our marketing team.
Meet Ru!
Hi, I am the photographer here at FiftyFlowers, and I learn something new about our gorgeous flowers every week. Orchids and white roses were the stars of this week’s lineup, and there was a lot to learn. Not only are these flowers some of my favorites but they are also in season. Here’s what I learned:
Cut the flower stems at an angle
First off, our flowers come straight from the farm in a box, and when we receive them, they need to be processed. Make sure to take them out of the plastic bags that they come in and cut off the ends of the stems at an angle so they can take in more water and be healthy.
Flowers like room temp water
When you put flowers in room temperature water they will open faster, which can be very helpful if you are pressed for time. To prevent browning with your white roses, use room-temperature water and remove any leaves that may rest below the surface of the water. Also, make sure your roses have limited exposure to extreme heat and cold, so keep them away from direct sunlight and fans, because this can cause blooms to dry out.
Your refrigerator is not only for food
When Orchids come, they are already open and beautiful and you can use them right away. Orchids will last about 3 days at room temperature before they start to wilt, but you can put them in the refrigerator to make them last longer.
I am so excited to be on the team at FiftyFlowers and cant wait to learn more about our amazing flowers. I feel like I learn something new every day. With my passion for photography and love of nature, FiftyFlowers is a place where I can be creative and have fun while learning and growing with the company!
