FiftyFlowers Featured Review: DIY Wedding Desserts
“All I knew was that I wanted to marry Taylor, and I wanted a total DIY wedding with as many flowers as possible. Even before I was engaged I started collecting items for the wedding. Almost everything we used at the wedding has a story. The bottles on the reception tables were found in my grandpa’s barn. My uncle made the benches we used at the reception. My grandpa made the chalkboard forty years ago for my mother. We found and bought seventeen 104-year-old pews. My grandmother made all the napkins and loaned us all her old forks. My mother-in-law made the quilt we stood on during the ceremony. We painted furniture, made tablecloths, bunting, and mini pie tarts. My mother, my aunt, and I spent hours making the centerpieces for the reception. I even hand wrote my invitations with a calligraphy pen. We started prepping the backyard as soon as I was engaged. We cut down trees, cleared out brush, and planted grass. The month before the wedding we had record rainfalls and literally scooped water from the low parts of the backyard to keep the grass from dying. We even bumped up the time of the wedding last minute to avoid rain and tornadoes. Our wedding turned out more perfect than I could’ve imagined! The flowers were beyond perfection and FiftyFlowers was so helpful and easy to work with.“
