When choosing your wedding flowers take time to decide on the perfect bloom for your Mom.

The Mother-of-the-Bride and of the Groom are traditionally given some sort of a corsage as a way to distinguish them during the wedding. This is more than just tradition because even today it gives the Moms a sense of pride for their children.

Choose a bloom that is appropriate for your Mom. Carly from The Knot offers this reminder to brides that there are no rules when it comes to choosing flowers for the mothers.

You can absolutely personalize your moms’ corsages according to their taste. There is no rule that says mothers of the bride and groom have to be carbon copies — or fathers, for that matter. As long as the colors coordinate with those of your wedding, let them choose their favorite blooms. The extra effort you make to individualize their corsages will make them feel special and appreciated too!

Many brides still given their mothers a traditional pin-on or wrist corsage. However many florist offer small bracelets with blooms attached. This works gret for smaller-framed women.

Over the weekend I worked a wedding where the Mothers were each given a small bouquet of roses. The bride’s Mom could not stop admiring her flowers. The extra effort her daughter had put in to give her Mom something special meant the world to her. She was constantly beaming as she gazed at the bouquet.

Your Mom is excited about your big day and has probably dreamed about it almost as much as you have. Remind her that you are glad to share this day with her and put a little bit of you into the flowers that you choose for her.
