One of the fun aspects of wedding day planning is taking time to coordinate the different elements of your wedding.

You may enjoy finding a theme to carry through your day or you may just want certain wedding day elements to appear throughout.

One thing that can be easily coordinated is your wedding flowers and colors. It will be beneficial if you know at least one of those before deciding on the other.

Let your florist know what colors you want to use and they can help match flowers to accent.

For example, here are a few tips on floral inspirations if you are using blue as your wedding color.

"Depending on whether you’re thinking of bright, deep, or pale blue, you could choose from hydrangea, delphinium, hyacinths, tweedia, and cornflowers," says Priscilla Schaefer, owner of Glorimundi, a floral-design firm in New York. Mother Nature wasn’t so compliant, though, when it came to making silver flowers. "Opt for a silver-toned vase or bowl," suggests Schaefer. Your florist could add some lamb’s ear, which is a soft gray foliage, or ivy dusted with silver spray paint for extra sparkle. –Donna Christiano
