Third Time Lucky: Man Marries at the Age of 100

January 18th, 2006 Posted in Wedding Planning and Ideas

A recent story from Tennessee caught our eye, and helped to remind us that age is merely a state of mind.  James Chalk, a community and business leader in the state thanks to his roles as pastor and building contractor, has had the fortunate luck to enjoy falling in love three times over the course of his 100 years.  His third bride, lifelong friend Evelyn Johnson, is an amazing 32 years his junior, at the young age of 68, but declares that Chalk’s age is a blessing rather than a concern because "they don’t make them like that any more at this age."

The happy couple were married in front of friends and family just outside of Jackson Tennessee, after a long friendship that saw them through the passing of Johnson’s first husband in 1999, and Chalk’s second wife in 2005.

It just goes to show you that love is timeless, ageless, and can strike unpredictably at any time.  People like James Chalk, who are lucky in both life and love, have been blessed with the opportunity to experience happy times throughout his long life and we here at the Wedding Flowers and Planning blog wish all of you brides and grooms-to-be, the same.
