Personalizing your Wedding

There are many traditions which should be incorporated at your wedding; however, you can also go beyond Bride with Wedding Flower Bouquettradition and create some unique flair to your wedding. Most Brides want to know how they can make their wedding different and a great approach to creating a special and unique is personalization; and also a great way to show off what the happy couple share in common. Some simple and easy personalization ideas for your wedding include:

  1. Wedding initiations are the first impression of your special day. Personalize your wedding invitations by personalizing your wedding postage stamps.
  2. Welcome gifts for your out of town guests ~ include a map of the town pointing out your favorite restaurants and things to do. This way your guests can enjoy some of the fun things that you as a couple do on a normal basis. Also consider including Fresh Flowers with a hand written note included.
  3. When guests sign in at your wedding take a Polaroid picture of them and attach them to their welcome message.
  4. Have your best friend become ordained and have her perform the wedding ceremony.
  5. Host a creative rehearsal dinner ~ have the restaurant cook your favorite meal that you learned in a cooking class; are you going to Greece on your honeymoon, host your rehearsal dinner at a Greek restaurant; do you love baseball games, see about having your rehearsal dinner at a box seat during a weekend baseball game.
  6. Write your own vows ~ the reason for your wedding is to publicize amongst your closest friends and family your promises and vows to each other.
  7. If you are a pet lover, include your special pet in the wedding. Dress him (or her) up and maybe even have them be your ring bearer.
  8. Use a fresh rose petal aisle to accent your wedding colors.
  9. Take dancing lessons: Learn to swing, your first dance as a married couple could be to swing have fun while showing off what you have had fun learning the past 6 months.
  10. Fresh Wedding Flowers with a meaning, such as is there a particular flower that you both remember from your childhood, or what was the first flower he sent to you after your first date? Use that flower as your primary flower.
  11. Do it yourself flowers – Use a DIY flower vase and decorate it with thematic ribbon. For example, if you are a butterfly lover, use a beautiful butterfly ribbon to accent the 4 sides of your DIY vase.
  12. Have your bridesmaids carry a different type of wedding flower, but all the same color.
  13. Create your Wedding Flower Centerpieces around a hobby, for example if you enjoy gardening together, use a watering pot as your vases.
  14. Show a slide show of your childhood to present during your wedding reception.
  15. If one of you are from another culture, incorporate a wedding tradition from your country. For example in Ecuador the bride offers a sweets table (dulces) of all handmade truffles and candies; incorporate the same ritual at your wedding.
  16. Use family heirlooms in your decoration. Try to find antique pieces which your great grandmothers used at their wedding or rather on a day to day basis and incorporate it.
  17. Have your cake designers create a groom’s cake that reflects the grooms profession or hobby. If he is a golfer, then a golfer shaped cake; if his is a fisher, then order a fish cake.
  18. Instead of numbering tables, name each table after your favorite cities visited or if you are opera lovers, have each table a different opera.
  19. Offer a personalized treats at the end of the night including monogrammed mints, peanut M&Ms in a nuts about you cone or your favorite warm soup.
  20. Exit with lights use either sparklers for a quick and fun ending of the evening or have offer candles for a more elegant and traditional exit from your wedding.

My husband and I are not very religious and had a friend perform our ceremony. The 3 of us wrote the vows together. It brought us 3 even closer and the ceremony was so real and genuine. I wasn’t sure if it would go over well but it was the talk of the reception. I had to assure everybody that we really were married! I highly recommend taking the time to dig deep and write your own vows and have a friend or loved one marry you.
