Mother’s Day Ideas

Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is just a few days away!
Flowers make a great gift to remind Mom how special she is. They will brighten her house, but also brighten her smile as a reminder of how much you care.
When sending your Mother flowers, tyou may want to figure out what her favorite flower is. You could also choose an arrangment of blooms in her favorite color or in a color that will compliment the room in which she will display your bouquet.
Florist Paige Anderson offers a few suggestions of Mother’s Day blooms if you have a large flower budget.
Paige suggests a bouquet of roses, French tulips and Oriental lilies if money’s not an issue.
French tulips have a larger head, a longer stem and are highly sought-after, especially by hotels. Oriental lilies such as Casablanca or stargazer are extravagant and exotic. They come from Thailand or Hawaii. A tip for lilies, pull the stamens off. This not only avoids staining, it makes the flower last longer by forcing water into the bud above the bloom.
“It’s always nice to do an oversized mixed bouquet that has some fragrance to it,” Paige said.
Whether Mom lives downstairs, down the street, or across the country, surprise her this weekend with a brilliant bouquet as you wish her Happy Mother’s Day.
