Another great green event option is to rent digital cameras instead of using disposable cameras. http://www.CameraRenter.com rents digital cameras [fully insured] and creates a free picture sharing website for you. No need to dispose of any cameras and all the harmful chemicals in them, or develop bad pictures that will get thrown away.

Hi, All your suggestions are really great -- except for recommending that people make their paper. The video you found, is fun, but the paper would be absolutely awful. Our company has 15 years in the handmade paper business, and previously, I was a rare book specialist. Making good handmade paper is an artisan skill -- like making fine pastry.
First, the fiber should be cotton linter for a novice. Kits are out there. Still, making 100 sheets of paper is daunting for someone with a little skill. How is the invitation going to be printed? How is it going to be mailed? Newsprint makes about the worst paper there is. (paper has been made out of trees for about 125 years.) Good handmade paper is make out of mulberry fiber (Asian style) -- or cotton, linen or hemp (western style).
