For The Summer Bride

daisySummer is the most popular wedding season. It may be because of the gorgeous weather, the convenience for vacation planning, or simply because we smile at the thought of summer love. Whatever the reason, if you are a summer bride let the summertime theme make your wedding planning easier. They season is full of inspiration for every detail of your wedding day.

When it comes to flowers, the possibilities are endless. Both solid colors or a mixture of colors for your bouquet can accent your summer wedding. Some popular summer flowers include daisies, calla lilies, orchids, and chrysanthemums.

For summery table decorations, consider the following season-inspired ideas:

June This month I’d like to feature Lilacs. They have a heavenly scent
and are absolutely gorgeous all by themselves. Lilacs come in a pale
blueish/lavender to a deep, rich purple and white. For a beautiful
medium size vase display, arrange 6-8 branches of a few different
colors and combine with 6-8 iceberg roses.

July Red, Blue or White vase or urn filled with Red and White Roses,
Queen Anne’s Lace and Delphinium. Happy 4th of July!

August Lilies of all colors are so beautiful on their own. I love to
take two of three stems of lilies and put them into a bud vase with
some greenery. Remember to pick out the stamens (those small things in
the center of the lilies — but leave the middle one) or the pollen will
collect and stain your tablecloth and clothes.

Here are a few other tips for making the most of your summer wedding.

  1. Have a summery theme
  2. Take advantage of the season
  3. Make the most of extended day light hours
  4. Make the most of outdoor locations
  5. Plan ahead for summer mishaps
  6. Give summer-inspired guest favors
  7. Stock up on citronella

Just like a child enjoys planning for summer, have fun planning your summer wedding. Let the excitement of the season inspire your wedding plans and you will create a beautiful wedding day.
