Flower Tips To Remember
March 31st, 2006 Posted in Wedding Planning and Ideas
When choosing your bridal bouquet, the first thing yout are thinking about is how it looks. You want flowers that are pretty and will go with the look of your wedding day.
However, don’t forget about your other senses! There are a few other things to consider before you finalize your floral decisions.
Touch. You are going to be holding bouquet so you want to think about the size and the feel of the stems.
Size it Up
Remember: size matters! Be sure your bouquets aren’t too heavy or too hard to carry. Trust us: you won’t want that burden. And don’t choose the bridal and attendants’ bouquets without regard to style of dress or body shape. A delicate nosegay will get lost against an elaborate ruffled dress, for example, and a small bride will be overshadowed by a massive cascading arrangement.
Smell. You are probably already thinking about your make-up running if you tear up. If you do cry at your wedding, just don’t let it be because of the smell of your flowers.
Be sure your bouquet isn’t too fragrant — you don’t want to be sneezing down the aisle! Some of the most fragrant flowers include freesia, lilies, lilacs, tuberoses, gardenias, and lilies of the valley. Go lightly on these blooms.
Even if it takes awhile, you will find the perfect bridal bouquet for your big day. Just have fun, take your time, and remember your senses!
