Choosing Your Ceremony Site
April 25th, 2006 Posted in Wedding Planning and Ideas
Once you being planning your wedding, one of the first decision you have to make is where the ceremony will take place.
The truth is you can get married anywhere. Wedding Ceremonies are traditionally held in a church or a chapel. Today though we see brides getting married on beaches, in backyards, and even on boats. Your ceremony site is completely up to you.
However, when you are in search of the perfect ceremony location, be prepared to ask the right questions. This search may take awhile, but it will be worth when you find the right place. Here are a few questions you will need to ask when checking out a wedding site.
- Can you tour the sanctuary or ceremony room? (Check seating capacity, number of aisles, general layout, and wheelchair accessibility, if that’s a concern.)
- What does the site provide and what would you provide yourselves (pew ribbons, aisle runner, flowers, candles)?
- Are there any restrictions on the type of music you can play or on the readings?
- Is there a dress code?
- Can you have a videographer and photographer in the sanctuary/ceremony room? Is flash photography allowed?
- Are there any restrictions on tossing items (rice, petals, bird seed)?
- When should the rehearsal be held?
These questions will get you started in deciding if this is the right place for you to plan the big day.
