Floral wire is not required for most of our products. Our flowers are of premium quality with sturdy heads and stems. However, certain flowers have a natural bend or may follow the light. For these flowers you may choose to use floral wire. Please note that when you introduce a foreign object into the stem of a flower, you block the flow of water to the bloom, thus shortening the flower’s vase life. How short the vase life becomes will depend on how well the flower responds to this change.

Most flowers do not require wiring. We encourage brides to wire their flowers if (1) the flowers are going to be exposed to rough circumstances or extensive travelling, (2) if flowers have short or no stems, such as orchids and gardenias, or (3) if you are arranging with spray flowers. Please keep in mind that you can damage the flower if the wiring is done incorrectly. We recommend practicing prior to your wedding day.

Most flowers can be wired simply by wrapping the wire around the stem and covering with floral tape. It is not necessary to pierce the flower.

WIRING ORCHIDS:

To wire your orchids, clip the orchid bloom from where it connects with the stem. Near the base of the individual bloom, where the bloom meets the stem, thread the floral wire perpendicular to the stem through its center. Gently pull the wire until half its length is through the stem. Then use your thumb and index finger to bend the wire straight down, so that both ends of the wire now run parallel to the stem. Next wrap floral tape around the stem, starting at the base of the bloom and work your way toward the end of the stem. Depending on your design, you may wrap the floral tape around the wire, even after the stem has ended. To apply the tape, hold the end in place with your index finger and gently pull the tape while rotating the flower stem so that the stem receives a complete coverage.

In some countries it is just a party to celebrate a graduation from high school or even college; while in other countries it can be the most stressful event for a young person, intensifying the pressure over issues of inclusion and exclusion. Whatever the situation may be it, is a celebration that is expanding worldwide.

In the United States, parents and teachers believed that a prom would be a good way to teach social skills to the students. In the 1920s, the first proms took place and a decade later they were popular across the country. In the beginning proms were pretty modest, held in the school gymnasium and decorated with crepe-paper. From the 1960s and until our days proms are more formal events with boys wearing tuxedos and girls in designer dresses arriving in limousines hired exclusively for that special night. As part of the attire girls wear a corsage, generally a wrist corsage, given to them by their dates and girls give boys matching boutonnieres.

It has also been analyzed how flowers in a house produce more compassion and release stress on the people around them.
When choosing flowers for gifts, think of the recipient first: is there a specific bloom that has a special meaning to them? What is their favorite flowers and if they know how to care for them. For example, many flower lovers see in the lily of the valley one of the most treasured gifts. However, because this fragrant flower is also fragile, the recipient must know how to care for them in order to enjoy them the longest. If the recipient does not have the time or knowledge to care for flowers, consider sending them an arrangement that is easy to care for such as roses. Flowers that last the longest and require minimal care are carnations, mums, Peruvian lilies and even bonsai trees which are the best choices for this type of people.

If you want to send flowers to a woman, remember something important. Instead of sending the flowers home, send them to her office or to a place other people can see them. This not only will make her feel very special around other people, but it will give her something to talk about with her co-workers. If you are inclined to a more romantic evening, then rose petals secretly delivered to you will work best.

Remember, even though there are special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries which need to be celebrated, an always appreciated touch is to send flowers just because.
