But your still not sure if buying wholesale flowers in bulk is for you. It takes time to care for and process fresh flowers and if you want several different types of flowers in your arrangement, the more bulk flowers you have to buy and the more work you have to do. Well, we have a solution for you! These options will make it easy for you to create the wedding of your dreams while still staying within your budget.

The first option is our DIY Flower Combos, these are flower boxes packed with just the right amount of flowers needed to create bouquets, centerpieces and more! We have all kinds of flower combos, from beautiful rose combos that come with just the right amount of roses and greens to create beautiful bouquets to centerpiece boxes that come with an assortment of focal flowers, filler flowers and greens. With these flower combos, you can get several types of flowers and greens without having to buy each flower in bulk, and they come in a variety of price ranges and combinations so you can find one that works for your needs! Here are some examples of our DIY Flowers Combos…

Make Your Own Flower Centerpieces Combo Box

The second option is our Wedding Flowers in a Box, which is pretty much what it sounds like! You get to choose the flower collection you like, anything from roses to hydrangeas to callas and more, then select your color and the amount of pieces. For instance, we have the bridal collection where you can select a bridal bouquet and then your choice of a boutonniere or corsage, or we have bigger packs that come with everything from the bridal bouquet to centerpieces and even flower girl petals. So, it is completely customizable for what you need! All our your bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc come pre-arranged and ready to carry down the aisle. All you have to do is receive the box, cut the bouquets out of their secure holders and place in water. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

Tangerine Dreams Bridal Bouquet

For the bridal bouquet Violet used 10 orange super gerberas, 7-9 light orange roses and 7-9 hot or dark orange roses, 7 stems peach spray roses, 10 stems of white asters, 10 stems of peach hypericum berries, 20 stems of bear grass, and 5 aspidistra leaves. Arrange your focal and filler flowers as desired. Violet looped the bear grass and aspidistra leaves by tucking both ends into the bouquet. The bear grass can create bigger loops throughout the bouquet, and the aspidistra leaves are great for creating a base near the bottom of your bouquet! I found a great DIY tutorial for creating a bridal bouquet with Lily grass loops, so to get some tips, check out Sandra de Ovando’s DIY session here!

Tangerine Dreams Bridesmaids Bouquets

For each bridesmaids bouquet Violet used 7 orange super gerberas, 5 light orange roses and 5 hot or dark orange roses, 5 stems peach spray roses, 7 stems of peach hypericum berries, 5 stems of white campanula, 20 stems of bear grass, and 3 aspidistra leaves. In these bouquets, leave the bear grass long and flowy at the ends and use 3 loops of aspidistra to finish the base of your bouquet. Violets Tip: “Arrange into a longer, more wild flower garden shape for a casual look, or keep it rounded and tighter for a more formal/evening look!”

Tangerine Dreams Moms Corsages

For each of the corsages Violet used 1 orange super gerbera, 2 roses (you can choose light, dark or one of each), 1 stem peach spray rose, bear grass and campanulas as desired. There are several ways to create corsages. You can glue your flowers onto corsage holders (which you can buy online by googling “corsage holders” or at most craft stores) and you can see how to make a corsage here. Or you can wire your flowers onto our floral arrangers, as seen in this post, then attach ribbon to tie around the wrist and any other decorations you wish.

Tangerine Dreams Boutonnieres

For each boutonniere Violet used 1 rose (again, you can choose between light and dark orange for each one), hypericum berries and bear grass. Simply gather and shape the flowers as desired and then tape the stems together with floral tape to finish it off and give it a clean look.

Tangerine Dreams Flower Girl Kissing Ball

Last but not least, we have the kissing or pomander ball for the flower girl! For the kissing ball Violet used 4 orange super gerberas, 3 large roses, 15 stems of peach spray roses and 20 stems of bear grass. Check out our DIY steps for creating these fun kissing balls here!

“Everything worked out GREAT! Follow the instructions they give you, buy a few cheap buckets from Lowes before the flowers arrive, buy a few pairs of flower cutters and packets of flower food (the super market floral department gave me packets for free) and you will be FINE!”

Centerpieces

“I’m not going to say putting the arrangements together isn’t a lot of work, but I will say it’s all worth it in the end! We did 22 table centerpieces, 5 other arrangements for the church, cake and gift tables, the bride and bridesmaids bouquets and everything looked beautiful, chic and fabulous!!” =)

Wouldn’t those just be great for adding pops of color, and they are perfect for flower girls, especially if rose petals are not permitted!

The next bouquet styles I am going to cover are unique styles that are not seen very often, but if you want something different and eye catching, these could be great options!

The first is the fan bouquet, which is a great option for vintage or Asian-inspired weddings. The fan bouquet is created either by attaching flowers to a fan or arranging flowers, or feathers in a fan shape. These bouquets are meant to be held upright and close to the chest. They can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. Here are some pictures to show you what I mean…

Peacock Feather Fan Bouquets - Etsy.com Photo by Samantha Jiwa

Fan Bouquet - moderndallas.net

The next type of bouquet is the prayer book bouquet or the Bible spray. A perfect choice for a devout bride. This bouquet is made by placing a small bouquet of flowers, usually the size of a corsage, onto a Bible or prayer book. The small bouquet is usually attached with ribbon so you don’t damage your book. Another way of creating a prayer book bouquet is to place a stem into the book, like you would a bookmark, with the bloom showing at the top of your book. Gwen Stefani (singer) carried a prayer book bouquet at her wedding! Here are some examples…

Prayer Book Bouquet - theknot - Photo by Studio Blue

The last bouquet we will discuss in this series is the muff bouquet. The muff bouquet is simply a bouquet that is attached to a hand muff. Perfect for winter weddings, this bouquet was created out of necessity for early century brides getting married in cold climates. These can be created by attaching a small bouquet to the top or front of the muff, or by attaching individual flowers all around the muff to create a floral muff, where you don’t see the actual muff, just the flowers. Pair this style with a long sleeved dress or gloves for a wonderful wintery wedding! And of course, I’ll show you some examples…

Muff Bouquet - elmersgardens.com

If you missed any of them you can see them by clicking here or by clicking on the individual post links at the top of this post! Which ones are your favorites and what bouquet styles would you consider carrying, or what type of bouquet did you carry at your wedding?

Enjoy… The presentation, arm, or flat bouquet is usually made up of long stemmed flowers or greenery that can be cradled in the bride’s or bridesmaid’s arm. When I think of these bouquets I think of beauty pageant winners receiving their flowers. This style bouquet is great for modern weddings and can be very chic. Presentation bouquets are usually hand-tied with ribbon or fabric and can be as simple or elaborate as the bride chooses. I have mostly seen single sided bouquets, with the stems showing at the end, but these bouquets can also be created with flowers on both ends to create a double sided bouquet with the stems wrapped with ribbon in the middle. Standard calla lilies are a popular choice for this bouquet, but you could also use long stemmed roses, orchids, gladiolus, tropicals, or other long stemmed flowers.
The presentation, arm, or flat bouquet is usually made up of long stemmed flowers or greenery that can be cradled in the bride’s or bridesmaid’s arm. When I think of these bouquets I think of beauty pageant winners receiving their flowers. This style bouquet is great for modern weddings and can be very chic. Here are some examples of what our DIY Brides have done…

Calla Lily Presentation Bouquets for the Bridesmaids

The composite flower bouquet or the glamelia bouquet is an unusual bouquet that is made from parts of a flower, usually the petals, and lots of them, to create one huge blossom. Hundreds of petals and greenery are usually wired or glued together to create this stunning bloom. This bouquet is usually not for the DIY Bride, unless you are very creative or have flower experience. Not all florist are experienced with the composite bouquet as well, so it can be challenging to find an experience florist and it may come with a large price tag. That being said, this bouquet is not for everyone, but if you like simple designs with a big impact and price doesn’t matter, this bouquet is for you! Pictures say a thousand words with this one, so here are some examples found on theknot.com, manolobrides.com, and weddingbee.com…

I hope everyone had a fun, safe and happy New Year! In part one of our bouquet styles series, I went over the different hand-tied bouquets. Now I will dive into two more styles, the cascading and the crescent shaped bouquets. These can also be hand-tied but are known by and named for their shapes. The cascading bouquet is also known as the shower, the waterfall, the teardrop or the trail bouquet. This style of bouquet is meant to hang or drop down in front of the hand and form an upside down teardrop shape, rounded at top and forming a point at the bottom. Larger bouquets with an exaggerated hang are usual called cascading or waterfall bouquets, while smaller, more structure shapes with a slight drop are usually classified as the teardrop or trail bouquet. Some people think this is an outdated style, Princess Diana carried a cascading bouquet in her early 80′s wedding, but it definitely has it’s place in weddings today. The cascading bouquet is a sophisticated bouquet and would be perfect for a formal and elegant wedding.

To make this bouquet modern, use the hand-tied technique instead of using a holder, unless you’re going super formal, since a silver holder can look very elegant. Almost any flower can be used in this bouquet, but using bold flowers like orchids or lilies can make this style modern and fun. In our recent design contest on Facebook, our second place winner had a gorgeous cascading bouquet. See her bouquet and some other examples from theknot.com below…

The crescent bouquet is a unique style that is shaped in a soft arch. The flowers are usually more compact in the center, then extend out of each side into a more tapered shape. Think of a quarter moon shape or those yummy crescent dinner rolls. It can be symmetrical or not. This bouquet is a great choice for brides that want something a little different. It can be used in modern, romantic or whimsical settings. Some people say this bouquet is best for brides with a slim waist and slim hips because of it’s dainty curved lines. The crescent bouquet can be hand-tied or wired. If you prefer a smaller bouquet, it is usually fine to hand-tie the stems, but if you prefer a large bouquet filled with lots of flowers, you may want to wire some of the flowers to create a smaller handle that is easier to hold. Check out some examples from brides.com and theknot.com…
